Preparations for the 66th edition of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) are on track, with organisers confirming full readiness ahead of the official opening on Monday.

This year's showcase, running from April 20 to 25, 2026, will be held under the theme "Connected Economies, Competitive Industries."

ZITF board chairman Busisa Moyo said the organisation has now moved into its final execution phase, focusing on coordination, quality assurance and delivering a seamless experience for exhibitors and visitors.

"We are pleased to report that preparations for ZITF 2026 are on track, with all critical operational, commercial, and infrastructure work streams firmly in place to ensure we commence ZITF on Monday April 20, 2026," he said during a media briefing.

Moyo revealed that exhibition space uptake has reached 97 percent, with 49,810 square metres already taken out of the available 51,170 square metres. A total of 485 direct exhibitors have been confirmed, including 100 leaseholders.

International participation remains strong, with 46 exhibitors from 29 countries, among them China, Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, and regional neighbours such as South Africa, Zambia and Botswana.

Business visitor registrations have also increased significantly, currently standing at 10,472 compared to 8,142 recorded last year—an indication of growing interest in the annual trade showcase.

"Based on these indicators, our overall readiness level is high," Moyo said, noting that both public and private sector participation has been robust, accounting for 42 percent and 58 percent of exhibition space uptake respectively.

He added that all permanent exhibition halls are nearly fully subscribed, with a purpose-built marquee set up to accommodate excess demand—reflecting strong market confidence in the platform.

"All major conference and networking platforms are ready, with programmes finalised and partners fully engaged," Moyo said.

The 2026 edition will be officially opened by Botswana President Duma Gideon Boko, underscoring the regional significance of the event.
