Annie-Grace Mutambu will be crowned Miss World Zimbabwe this afternoon at an event which will be combined with her prize-giving ceremony.

This means Mutambu, 19, would compete at this year's Miss World finals.

Mutambu replaces Emily Kachote, 25, who was stripped of her crown for her purported appearance in leaked indecent photographs and who however, denies ever posing undressed.

The Miss Zim Trust had said Kachote had been dethroned for violating rules and regulations governing the pageant.

Last year's Miss Zimbabwe, Thabiso Phiri, also resigned in August after photos emerged online allegedly showing her posing undressed.

Mutambu's crowning will take place at the Miss World Zimbabwe offices in Eastlea.

Mutambu was crowned first princess at the initial pageant held at Mermaid's Pool on April 25.

She was later named queen when Kachote was dethroned two weeks ago.

She will receive a Kia Picanto and prize money.

Tendai Chirau, Miss Zimbabwe Trust's communications manager confirmed the developments.

"We will be holding a prize-giving ceremony tomorrow (today) to swear-in the new queen," Chirau said. "It will take place at the Trust's offices."
