MUKUDZEI Mukombe aka Jah Prayzah will this Easter weekend make a much-awaited return for two dates with his fans in Cape Town and Johannesburg.
The lanky artist is one of the most-loved artists from Zimbabwe and most of his shows in South Africa have been sold out in the recent past.
In his last show police had to be called in after hordes of fans were locked out at the Newtown Music Factory due to safety concerns.
The first show is in Cape Town at the Castle of Good Hope on Good Friday and will feature other artists such as HKD Boss Freeman, Tocky Vibes, Crystal and Ninja Kabhida. The travelling artists will be joined by Mr Gee Kuda Kumsedyo of Warrior 1 Sound, Captain Pliez, Morgan Stich, MC Lenny among others. The minimum ticket is available on Computicket at R200 for the gig.
On Saturday the gig moves to Johannesburg at the Constitution Hill which is home to South Africa's highest court (the Constitutional Court) in between Hillbrow and Parktown. The venue has a sentimental value to Jah Prayzah and it is where he shot the video of his high-riding track Chengetedza. It will be an opportunity for the fans to view the iconic venue which is one of Johanneburg's tourist attractions.
The line-up of artists will remain the same although there will be additional DJs the likes of Sevious Pasipamire aka SVS and DJ Platinum. The ticket prices will also remain the same as Cape Town. The two shows are the brainchild of Morris Musekiwa under the banner of Silent Killer and Lock Trans Promotions.
"This tour has been long in the making and we have done the best to ensure fans will not have a dull Easter weekend. Jah Prayzah and his full band are ready and as usual we do not want to disappoint," said Musekiwa yesterday.
Meanwhile, on Good Friday Alicats Pub will host an All-White Party that will feature a number of resident DJs such Hustle, Chief Jay, Deep Sage, Spragga T among others. The party kicks off at 6pm until the wee hours of Easter Saturday. It has the backing of DreamChasersGlobal, Afrikan Tribe, Blackstone and Hustle Entertainment.
