Dancehall musician, Sniper Storm, known in the music industry as The General, has released his seventh album titled "Silver Bullet".
The 12-track album, which was launched in Harare, has such tracks as "Gotsi Papata," which features the multi-award winning artist Jah Prayzah, "Musandipopotere," which he collaborated with DaRuler and "Musikana Ane Tundebvu," amongst others.
Sniper said that the new release is a response from his fans to collaborate with other local artists.
Guest of Honour, the Deputy Minister of Information, Media and Broadcasting Services, Cde Supa Mandiwandzira said artists should take advantage of the government's 75 percent local content on local broadcasting stations and produce more local content and take advantage of the programmes available on both radio and television.
ZIMURA chairman Albert Nyathi said local artists should compose meaningful songs so that they can create their own market.
Sniper, whose real name is Donald Chirisa, said his type of music tells a story in this new age era where dancehall music has already taken the industry by storm.
Sniper once collaborated with Oliver Mtukudzi on the song "Paita Rudo".
He recorded the album "Silver Bullet" at his studio called D-Brigade and unlike other artists who tend to rely on computerised beats and rhymes, he included live instrumentation on the new album with the assistance of a live band.
