Mthwakazi Maskandi artist makes waves in South Africa

Meet Omega Mkhosi Ndlovu born and bred at Ezidulini at Bhuka area in Nkayi. UMkhosi of Isheleni lami fame as he is popularly known in the music fraternity, started his career singing at Ezidulini Primary School .
"I grew up like any other boys singing while herding cattle and at primary school. That's when I realised that I have got talent," he says.
He went on to do his Secondary education in Ntabazinduna at Madlelanyoni Secondary and at Sojini High School in Mbembesi respectively.
After finishing school he went to work in Bulawayo at Berkshire. It is during that time that he had to seek advice from Chase Skuza but he couldn't raise money to record his songs.
Ndlovu migrated to South Africa and managed to record his debut Album 'Isheleni Lami' in 2014. The album took oMaskandi fans by storm, it featured his hit song hit 'uMakoti'.
"UMkhosi has become a darling of Maskandi fans and if he maintains that standard, he is going far," said Andrew Dean Ndlovu a staunch Maskandi follower.
"UMkhosi has shaken Maskandi industry" echoed Mlungisi Madabudabu kaTshabalala.
His second album entitled "Kwangenza ukufa" is already on sale although it will be officially launched later this month.
It features hit songs Kwangenza ukufa (title track), Nxa ngibiziwe and uMadliwa Khumalo (his Chief) which also talks about other traditional chiefs Mswigana of Tsholotsho, Khayisa of Plumtree, Fuyana, Etc.
Mkhosi says he has changed the rhythm in his latest album because his first album's rhythm was much into that of Maskandi Icon Bhekumuzi Luthuli .
"Its important to have your own identify in this industry. I also hope to be a great musician and that my work will be recognised all over the world" He concluded.
