Mugabe caps 1554 graduands at ZOU

President Robert Mugabe, who is also the Chancellor of the Zimbabwe Open University has capped 1554 graduands at a graduation ceremony held at the City Sports Centre in Harare on Friday.
Six of the graduands attained doctorates degrees, including three Mozambican nationals from the Cayjoluc University in Beira.
The students were drawn from the Faculties of Arts, Education, Commerce and Law and Applied Social Sciences.
Addressing the gathering, ZOU Vice Chancellor Dr Primrose Kurasha paid tribute to the President for introducing open and distance learning and for fighting against colonial injustices.
Dr Kurasha said by establishing ZOU, higher education was availed in the remotest parts of Zimbabwe and brought higher learning to even the elderly in Zimbabwe.
