Lupane State University has come up with a list of steps to be taken to complete the construction of the campus by the end of April.
The institution plans to relocate to the new campus at the beginning of the second semester.
Lupane university has assigned the necessary actions to contractors and sub-contractors who are on site to ensure they meet the deadlines.
The major challenges affecting the completion of the current phase include the connection of water, sewage reticulation and electricity.
Lupane State University Vice Chancellor Professor Pardon Kuipa says since August last year, the university has received $3 million from the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development to ensure the remaining work is completed ahead of the targeted dates for the relocation.
The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences as well as Social Sciences and Humanities will be the first ones to relocate to the campus while the Faculty of Commerce will continue to operate from Bulawayo until the institution has constructed enough lecture rooms and accommodation.
The relocation of LSU to Lupane is expected to create new business opportunities for the community and the business sector in the provincial capital as some students will be forced to find accommodation outside the campus.
