Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai is set to wed his new wife Elizabeth Macheka on September 15.

The premier is customarily married to Macheka, a daughter of a prominent Zanu-PF Central committee member Joseph Macheka.

Macheka is a widow as her first husband died 10 years ago.

Tsvangirai has been widowed since his wife and mother of his six children, Susan, died in a car crash in March 2009.

His engagement to Macheka comes months after he stopped marriage proceedings for another lady, Lorcadia Karimatsenga Tembo.

In November, last year, Tsvangirai sent a delegation to  Tembo's home on November 18  to request for her hand in marriage and pay lobola.

Tsvangirai splashed $36 000 cash as lobola.

But he soon terminated the relationship a few days later, stating: "I sent a delegation to the Karimatsenga family homestead to perform traditional and cultural rites to formalise this relationship.

Tembo is said to have suffered miscarriage as she was carrying the premiers twins.

Last year, a 23-year-old Bulawayo woman, Loreta Nyathi who was impregnated by Tsvangirai lashed out at the "playboy" PM for refusing to look after his son Ethan.

Tsvangirai has also come under spotlight of HIV/AIDS activist who believe the PM should display a responsible behavior rather than having unprotected sex with several women.
