CONTROVERSIAL self-proclaimed prophet Jay Israel Senior who claims to have spiritual powers to heal the sick, perform miracles, and deliver people from demonic possession, has relocated from his South African base to Zimbabwe.
The founder of Light World Ministries, who is also an author and motivational speaker, had been enjoying life across the Limpopo River.
Born Jacob Dube, Jay Israel Senior tomorrow hosts his first church service in Harare.
He was born in Zimbabwe in 1987. The prophet grew up in a Christian family and was introduced to the teachings of the Bible at a young age.
He started preaching at the age of 16 and began conducting crusades in Zimbabwe and other African countries. He rose to fame in 2016 after he started Spirit Life Mega Church in Pretoria, which is now one of the largest churches in South Africa.
The church has branches in several African countries, including Zimbabwe, Nigeria, and Ghana. NewsDay Weekender Society caught up with Jay Israel Senior who spoke on his return and the role of the church in nation building, among others.
I have been in South Africa for years and now I am back in the country. I am back here to set up a lot of things, some that are already in motion on the business side: in the mining sector and in the entertainment industry.
My calling as a prophet has not been an easy one. I was called by God into the prophetic office from a very young age.
The prophetic was already manifesting itself in so many ways through dreams and visions. Even at school, they used to be some instances where I would randomly say things that would come to pass.
It has not been an easy road; it has been a very turbulent road, extremely turbulent journey, but I can tell you now that there is nothing so great, so big that can just happen from nothing. You must go through something. You know (what happens) when God is manifesting himself.
I am heavily pregnant with a life-changing word from the Lord for the nation of Zimbabwe and beyond. The Light World Ministries in conjunction with the Light Nation will be launching destiny altering and life-transforming gatherings themed "4 Sundays of Extreme Revelation and Power". It will be like heaven on earth.
We are launching this coming Sunday (tomorrow). We are launching a vision that God gave me to bring what is called illumination to the people, enlightening the black man so that the black African men may awaken to self. They wake up from slumber and wake up and realise the power within a black man.
The power bestowed upon the black man. So, I have not done any services in Zimbabwe over the past, probably 10 years.
So, on Sunday we are meeting at Eastgate Fantasyland. It is going to be amazing; it is going to be great. I am bringing a revelation; I am introducing people to what I call the ‘big God' going to explain in detail to the enlightenment and the illumination of the people.
Of false prophets, men of God sexually abusing congregants
Yes, of late we have had reports of men of God raping congregants among other evil deeds. The Bible makes it very clear that in the last days, they shall be false prophets, and on that day, they shall stand before the Lord, and the Lord shall say to them "go back to where you were doing your evil works for, I knew you not", so we have them. They are amongst us, the Bible calls them jackals, wolves in sheep clothing. They profess godliness, but they deny His power.
They profess godliness in the form of their clothing and different things, but deep down within them, the spirit of Yeshua does not abide in them. It is a very biblical thing that is happening, but I do not condone such behaviours. I do not condone such acts. I do not condone such as a prophet of God.
Yes, cults do exist. A cult is just a group of people who come together with a backbone of belief or who come together to share a common belief. Such people become a cult. So, cults do exist for the good and for the bad. But those who exist for the bad, we just say, may God help us.
Zimbabwe is a prayerful nation, it is a Christian nation, therefore, I have been praying for Zimbabwe ever since I came into the country. I said this before and I am going to say it again, the Lord told me clearly without any shadow of doubt, he told me that President Emmerson Mnangagwa is going to win the elections.
He is going to win the elections by a wide margin. It is going to be a landslide victory, that is number one.
Number two, there is going to be peace, so much peace, so much more peace than before.
Even after the elections, things are going to be different, we are heading towards the right direction and God has anointed the President (Mnangagwa) to be in the office. He is the one chosen by God for this moment.
