St John Ambulance Association celebrates 95 years

The St John Ambulance Association this year celebrated its 95th anniversary amid plans were made for special awards to be awarded to various people.

This was reported by the Acting Town Clerk Sikhangezile Zhou during full council meeting who said that from Matabeleland Centre Administrator of St John Ambulance Association the council was informed that the organisation was this year celebrating ninety-five (95) years of existence.

"As part of the celebrations, they had designed a special awards program to celebrate the incredible stories of ordinary people who saved lives on a day to day base. The identified categories were as follows; Everyday Hero Doctor, Everyday Hero Nurse, Everyday Hero Fire-fighter, Everyday Hero Ambulance Technicians (EMRS), Everyday Hospital, Everyday Clinic, Every Ambulance Service Provider, Everyday Surgery/Doctors' room," reads the minutes.

The council resolved that willing Council departments will be allowed to submit nominations in the relevant categories as shown.
