Members of the South African National Defence Force deployed along the South Africa–Zimbabwe border in Limpopo have recovered two high-value stolen vehicles during routine patrols, underscoring the effectiveness of intensified border security operations.
Troops from Joint Tactical Headquarters Limpopo, working together with the 1 South African Tank Regiment, intercepted a Ford Ranger Raptor valued at approximately R939,000. The vehicle is believed to have been acquired in Rustenburg using fraudulent documentation.
In a separate operation conducted near Beitbridge, another SANDF team recovered a 2024 Ford Ranger XLT double cab worth an estimated R655,000.
Both vehicles have since been handed over to Musina Police Station for further investigation.
Authorities say the recoveries highlight ongoing efforts to combat cross-border vehicle theft syndicates, which have increasingly targeted the Limpopo corridor as a transit route for stolen vehicles destined for neighbouring countries.
