MP Maridadi claims that he is lobbying for development in Tafara

Tafara MDC-T MP James Maridadi has claimed that he tries by all means to represent the people and has been lobbying for development in the area and at time s hit a snug.

Harare Residents Trust said  Honorable Maridadi informed the residents that he is trying by all means to represent residents on issues of service delivery.

"He informed residents that he last held a feedback meeting 2 May 2016 whilst the last one was held in December 2015. The MP has written several letters to officials in order for service delivery issues to be addressed. These include letters (25 April 2016); to the Town Clerk on 25 April 2016 on the issue of change of ownership of Tafara houses from the council to residents, letter to ZESA General Manager, Engineer Phillip Nyandiya concerning the issue of installation of prepaid electricity meters in Chizhanje and electricity reconnection on 25 April 2016 and the letter was copied to Councillor Barnabas Ndira, a letter to former Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Francis Nhema on 14 August 2014 concerning the issue of the $330 000.00 Mabvuku Share Ownership Trust to Lafarge Cement and a letter to Lafarge on 28 November 2013 requesting for donations which was turned down," said the trust.

"An MP must (1) represent, (2) legislate and (3) do oversight of Government ministries through Parliamentary Portfolio Committees."
