MDC-T MPs must start lobbying Zanu PF MPs to vote against RBZ bill - analyst

A political commentator Matongo Alois has challenged the MDC-T legislators to start lobbying and engaging Zanu PF MPs at individual capacity to vote against the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Bill in parliament to stop bill from being signed into fully fledged law.
He said judging by their so called "grilling" of Chinamasa and Mnangagwa over the alleged futility of the public consultations over the RBZ Amendment Bill 2016 when the bond notes are already in circulation, it is clear the MDC-T legislators have not done their homework.
"If MPs vote against the Bill, Mugabe's Statutory Instrument No133 of 2016 will cease to be law and bond notes will cease to be legal tender. So instead of wasting time displaying their lack of preparedness these MPs should be lobbying their counterparts in Zanu PF to vote against the bill," he said.
"This is possible considering that the general public is deadly against the bond notes and no sane MP will want to be seen to vote for a bill that is not supported by people back in their constituencies. In the USA members of the two major parties can cooperate for a single cause in what they call bi-partisan approach. Why can't Zimbabwe's MPs from Zanu PF and the MDC-T cooperate to defeat this instrument of impoverishing them and their people back in the constituencies?"
