TWO men from Bulilima have been arrested for undressing and severely assaulting a 16-year-old boy for dating their 15-year-old niece.
Edmore Ntimwe (32) and Willard Ndlovu (23) of Gonde Village were not asked to plead when they appeared before Plumtree magistrate, Mr Taurai Manwere, facing attempted murder charges.
Prosecuting, Mr Elisha Mazorodze said Ntimwe and Ndlovu first struck Kwanele Nleya with a knobkerrie and mopane switch before twisting his manhood.
"On 24 June at around 11PM, Ntimwe and Ndlovu were at Gonde Business Centre watching a band perform with their niece when she left with her friends heading home. Ntimwe and Ndlovu later left around 1AM the following day and proceeded home where they discovered that their 15-year-old niece was not at home.
"They knew that she was in love with Kwanele and they suspected that she had gone to sleep at his home. They proceeded to his home but they could not locate him as he had also gone to watch the band," he said.
Mr Mazorodze said the two men waited for Kwanele at his home and when he arrived they demanded to know the whereabouts of their niece.
Kwanele said he did not know where she was as he had last seen her at Gonde Business Centre.
"This didn't please Ntimwe and Ndlovu and they ordered Kwanele to get into his bedroom hut. Ntimwe beat up Kwanele several times with a knobkerrie and switch. Ndlovu stripped Kwanele and whipped him with a switch on his back.
"He further squeezed and twisted Kwanele's testicles threatening to castrate him. Kwanele screamed and this attracted his elder sister who was sleeping in a separate hut," he said.
Mr Mazorodze said Ntimwe and Ndlovu then fled from the homestead upon realising that Kwanele's sister was awake. He said Kwanele sustained severe injuries due to the attack.
The matter was reported to the police resulting in Ntimwe and Ndlovu's arrest.
