Former ZBC presenter Eric Knight has said claims that MDC-T leader Morgan  Tsvangirai sent party members to the US to seek extension of sanctions are blue lies.

"That is not correct. There has been a very dangerous and stinky rumour circulating on some parts of the media that MDC President Dr Morgan Tsvangirai has sent three men to the USA to talk to the powers there to either extend sanctions on Zimbabwe or to discourage the Trump Government from working with President Emmerson Mnangagwa (ED's) government.

"I was very much disturbed and angry just like most Zimbabweans. I could not sleep. I personally located my brother Nelson Chamisa who is also Vice President of the MDC. He was on transit and he could not pick up my call and I left him a message on whatsapp," he said.

"As a friend, brother and God fearing man I personally relate to and respect, I told him point blank that if this is true it would be extremely bad for everyone and I needed him to assure me its not correct. Knowing him as I do, knowing how 'not stupid' Nelly is, I could not believe he would be part of such a foolish mission.

"He responded once he touched down in America. Ladies and Gentlemen, I am glad to let you know that he has assured me that it is a lie from the pit of hell.

"Yes, Tendai Biti, Welshman Ncube and Nelson Chamisa are indeed in the United States right now but the purpose and mission of their trip, I don't know in detail and obviously they would not disclose that."

He said the only thing Chamisa told him was that it is part of the preparation of the forthcoming 2018 Elections.
