South Africa's President Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa will be meeting Enlightened Christian Gathering leader Prophet Shepherd Bushiri on the 13th of April
A high powered delegation that was led by African National Congress National Executive Council Member Dr Mathole Matshekga descended at the church headquarters recently to convey the message from the ANC and from President Ramaphosa.
The delegation included Senior members from the Women League and traditional leaders.
"This is an African church. President Ramaphosa says that there cannot be new dawn without spiritual dawn, and Major 1 is here to do so for us. As Mandela led us in the political sphere, in the spiritual freedom we need Major 1," Dr Matshekga said.
Prophet Bushiri is affectionately known as Major 1 to his followers.
In response to the ANC visit, Bushiri is quoted as having said, "We have always been told that ANC hates ECG. I am sure such talks ends today. We thank you very much for coming to pray with us. As a church, we will always pray for South Africa and its people."
