On Tuesday there was an uproar in the House of Assembly as legislators disagreed on who is responsible for the rampant corruption in local authorities. ZANU PF has been accusing MDC-T run urban councils of corruption and poor service delivery.
The MDC-T legislators accused the Minister of Local Government, Rural and Urban Development, Dr Ignatius Chombo of fuelling corruption in the local authorities.
The legislators alleged that the Minister meddles too much in council affairs while their Zanu-PF counterparts took a swipe at the breed of MDC-T councillors running the affairs of many urban councils.
Zengeza East MDC-T legislator, Mr Alexio Masundire apparently hinted that Minister Chombo should be removed from office for interference in council.
The remarks angered Zanu-PF legislators, who took turns to defend Minister Chombo claiming he has done his job professionally by weeding off corrupt elements within the councils in adherence to set laws.
