Zimbabwe's Defence Policy is non-aggressive and is aimed at defending the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity while promoting maintenance of international peace and stability.

This was said by the Minister of Defence and War Veterans Affairs Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri when she addressed students attending the Joint Command and Staff Course Number 34 at the Zimbabwe Staff College at the Josiah Magama Tongogara Barracks.

"Equally important, as a member of Sadc, Zimbabwe's Defence Policy also seeks to contribute meaningfully to the region's achievement of an effective common regional security system that exhibits a unity of purpose in defence and security matters," she said.
