ZANU PF Mashonaland Central Provincial chairperson Kazembe Kazembe is reportedly not conducting Provincial Coordinating Committee meetings as mandated by the party for fear of losing more support ahead of the the looming provincial elections.

Kazembe is set to battle it out with his long time rival Tafadzwa Musarara together with the now broke James Makamba.

Sources within the provincial executive claim Kazembe last called for a PCC meeting early last month when he wanted to mobilize support for secretary for War Veterans in the Politiburo Douglas Mahiya who came and endorsed him as the chairman of the province in the next election.

"Our chairman (Kazembe) is ignoring PCC meetings in the province while choosing to campaign for provincial elections," lamented a source who declined to be named.

"PCC meetings are supposed to be held regularly in a bid to smoothen the flow of party events but he is stopping them and going for campaigns as the race has become hotter for him since the emerging of his rival Musarara."

This publication is reliably informed that Kazembe did not submit district results to the party headquarters.

"Mashonaland Central is yet to tender their districts elections results for the restructuring to the party headquarters and we strongly believe Kazembe wants to temper around with structures to retain his post," the source said.

Efforts to contact Kazembe were fruitless as his mobile phone went unanswered.
