Father jailed 20 years for raping daughter

BINDURA - A 37-year-old Madziwa man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after being caught raping his 15-year-old daughter by his wife.
The father, whose name has been withheld to protect the identity of the minor, was convicted and sentenced by Bindura regional magistrate Elisha Singano.
Prosecutor Clever Nyapfani told the court that on November 1, the man was left alone in the dining room by his wife. Hours later, he followed his daughter into her bedroom, forced her to undress and raped her.
The girl screamed for help, alerting her mother, who rushed to the room and found her daughter naked while the father was partially undressed. The mother immediately intervened, leading to the father's arrest.
The conviction underscores the courts' firm stance against sexual violence, particularly cases involving minors.
