BINDURA – Villagers in Chirikadzi, Bindura rural ward nine, were treated to a memorable Christmas celebration after United Kingdom‑based businessman Tafadzwa Mandizha and his wife Samantha hosted a party through their Mandizha Plaza complex.

The event drew scores of people and featured performances by Sulumani Chimbetu, Jah Signal and DJ Phatchild, giving many locals the chance to see popular musicians live for the first time.

Mandizha, who has been carrying out philanthropic work in his rural home, said he was delighted to see the joy on people’s faces.

“As Mandizha Plaza we are so happy to be celebrating Christmas with so many people who are excited to see musicians like Sulu, Jah Signal and DJ Phatchild, whom they usually only hear on radio,” Mandizha said.

On stage, Chimbetu captivated fans with his own songs as well as classics from his late father.

Villager Givemore Masembura said the experience was unforgettable.

“It is my first time to see my favourite musician Sulumani Chimbetu, and what Mandizha Plaza has done for us is memorable. This Christmas should not be forgotten thanks to Mandizha Plaza,” he said.

Another fan, Sarah Gombekombe, said she was overwhelmed with joy.

“It is as though I am dreaming. When Jah Signal went on stage I was filled with happiness. Having such a party freely is something that should not be taken for granted. Mandizha Plaza is the deal,” she said.

Mandizha Plaza was officially opened in August after Mandizha transformed a former community beer hall into a modern one‑stop complex featuring a butchery, shop, bar and an upstairs VIP lounge.
