Robbers broke into a ZB Bank branch at Mpandawana Growth Point in Gutu and blasted an ATM before escaping with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to reports.
The incident occurred last night, with sources telling The Masvingo Mirror that the suspects allegedly gained entry into the bank through the roof.
Once inside, the robbers reportedly blasted the ATM and took the cash before fleeing.
The bank manager, who rushed to the branch after the alarm system was triggered, was reportedly injured while attempting to escape from the suspects.
The amount of money stolen had not been disclosed by the time of publication.
The robbery comes about three months after another ZB Bank branch, in Ngezi, was targeted by robbers.
Efforts to obtain comment from national police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi were unsuccessful.
ZB Bank has since notified customers that its Gutu branch will remain temporarily closed following the incident.
Police investigations are expected to establish how the suspects gained access to the premises and identify those behind the robbery.
