BULAWAYO - Creditors of Makokoba Stores Limited have been invited to inspect the company's first and final distribution account as the liquidation process moves towards completion.

According to a liquidation notice issued under the Companies Act, the First and Final Distribution Account will be open for inspection at the Master of the High Court in Bulawayo for 14 days from October 2, 2026.

The notice advises creditors that the liquidation account and proposed distribution plan will be available for examination at the Master's Office during the inspection period.

The development gives creditors with claims against Makokoba Stores an opportunity to review the proposed distribution of assets before the liquidation process is finalised.

The notice forms part of formal proceedings prescribed under the Companies Act governing the winding-up of companies and the distribution of their assets.

In a related corporate rescue matter contained in the same notice, creditors who have lodged claims have been urged to attend a scheduled meeting.

"Kindly be advised that all creditors who have lodged their claims are required to attend the scheduled meeting," the notice states.

It further warns that failure to attend may affect the status of submitted claims.

"Failure to attend may result in the claim being rejected on the basis of non-attendance."

The notice also calls on all individuals and entities owed money by the company to formally submit their claims.

"If you are owed money by the company for any reason whatsoever, you are required to complete a claim form," the notice states.

Creditors are required to complete claim forms in duplicate and submit them to the Master of the High Court in Bulawayo before the stipulated deadline.

The documents are to be lodged at the Master's Office, located on the fifth floor of Compensation House at the corner of 7th Avenue and J.M. Nkomo Street, by 3:30pm.

Creditors requiring assistance during the process have been advised to contact the appointed Corporate Rescue Practitioner.

The practitioner named in the notice is Crispen Mwete of C. Mwete & Company, whose offices are situated at 19 Coghlan Avenue, Khumalo, Bulawayo.

For creditors of Makokoba Stores, the opening of the first and final distribution account represents an important step in the liquidation process, allowing interested parties to scrutinise the proposed distribution before the matter is concluded.

The notice also highlights the importance of complying with prescribed procedures and attending scheduled meetings to safeguard creditors' interests.
