Mugabe appoints commissioners

President Mugabe has appointed commissioners to the Defence Forces Service Commission, Police Service Commission and the Prison and Correctional Service Commission in terms of the new Constitution.
Commissioners of the Defence Forces Service Commission are Mrs Cecelia Dubiwa, Ms Florence Ziyera, Retired Brigadier Generals Ben Matiwaza and Benjamin Mabenge, Retired Air Commodore Anele Moyo and Bishop Morris Brown Gwedegwe of the Anglican Church.
Four commissioners appointed into the Police Service Commission are Dr Milicent Sibongile Mombeshora, Mr Moses Chihuri, Mrs Meriba Mary Masango and Mrs Christine Fundira.
Those appointed as commissioners in the Prison and Correctional Service Commission are Mr Godfrey Matemachani, Ms Pauline Mukondiwa, Mr Charles Manzini, Mr Milton Siziba, Mrs Pauline Chapendama and Mrs Priscillah Murombedzi.
Dr Mariyawanda Nzuwah was recently appointed the chairperson of the three commissions in terms of the Constitution which requires that the chairperson of the Civil Service Commission becomes the chair of the three.
Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Dr Misheck Sibanda made the announcement of the new commissioners in a statement yesterday.
The appointments were made in line with the requirements of the new Constitution which confirmed the commissions.
The Constitution requires that there should be a minimum of two and maximum of six other members appointed by the President to the commissions.
Dr Nzuwah's appointment as Defence Forces Service Commission chairperson was made in terms of Section 217 (1) of the Constitution Amendment (No 20) Act 2013, while that of the Police Service Commission was made in terms of Section 222 (1) Amendment (No 20) Act 2013. His appointment as the Prison Service and Correctional Service Commission was made in terms of Section 230 (1) Amendment (No 20) Act 2013.
Secretary for the Civil Service Commission Mrs Pretty Sunguro (accounting officer) was appointed as secretary for the three Commissions.
