A Mbare man was hauled to court for 'baking his poo' at a community borehole and selling mbanje (marijuana).
Spencer Zongororo appeared before a civil court magistrate after the applicant Valerie Neruwana cited that Spencer was violating her peace by defecating at the borehole as well as selling mbanje.
Valerie also alleged that Spencer's customers made noise even late at night such that she wasn't enjoying peaceful nights.
"This man sells mbanje just less than five metres away from my precast wall and his customers are very rowdy people who are always making noise after smoking mbanje. Pane akaitira dhodhi pachibhorani (Somebody recently defecated at the borehole) and we suspect that it's either him or his customers. People in then neighbourhood were very furious and wanted him to vacate the place. he has threatened to beat me and even stoned me accusing me of telling people that he was the one who had defecated at the borehole. He is very disrespectful and I can't continue to have him selling his mbanje close to my home," fumed Valerie.
Spencer denied both selling mbanje and 'baking poop' at the borehole. He claimed that the two had pending 'personal issued' with Valerie that started long back.
"I don't sell mbanje, all I do is to repair bicycles at that corner and that's what I do for a living and to sustain my family. She is the one who operates a shebeen and there is a guy whop sells mbanje at her place and I can bring people who can witness that. She told people that I had defecated at the borehole and imagine how embarrassing it is for a family man like me to be accused of kumam*ra pachibhorani," he said.
The applicant, however, insisted that Spencer was the one who had pooped because other people around that area have toilets in their homes which they use.
"He spends the whole day at that corner and he doesn't have a toilet even for his customers, so they are the ones who defecated at the borehole," she argued.
Magistrate Gamuchirai Siwardi who presided over the matter dismissed the application noting that it lacked merit to prove that Spencer was the one who had 'baked the poop' at the borehole.
