Chinese smuggler convicted in Harare

A Chinese national has been fined US$800 after being convicted for contravening the law regarding the possession and storage of fire arms.
Harare magistrate, Tendai Mahwe slapped Wen Cai Huo with a US$700 fine or 12 months in prison for illegally possessing rounds of several live ammunition.
Huo was also found guilty of failing to secure firearms under Chapter 10, Section 2 (ii) of the Firearms Act.
He was fined US$100 or 20 days in prison for the second offence.
Huo has been ordered to pay the fines before 1600 hours this Thursday and the ammunition was forfeited to the state.
Huo was arrested on the 22nd of July at number 1089 Venters Burgh Road in Masasa, Harare after being found in possession of several rounds of live ammunition.
He was also found with two bars of suspected gold coated in silver, smelted gold buttons, two pistols, processed ivory and .
