South Africa and Zambia have stopped supplying power to Zimbabwe a situation that will result in increased load shedding.
Zimbabwe requires 2 200 megawatts at any given period during peak periods - 6 am and 9am and 5pm and 9pm.
Zesa spokesperson Fullard Gwasira said high power demand in both countries is the major reason.
"Zesa Holdings had a firm Power Purchase Agreement of 50 megawatts with Hydro Cabora Bassa of Mozambique with a possibility of getting up to 2000 megawatts, subject to availability at that's source and at the moment we are not importing power from ZESCO and ESKOM," he said.
