A DANGAMVURA woman has revealed how she is failing to move out of an abusive marriage because her husband is using traditional charms to lure her back into the bedroom.
Fidelis Mubare has on two occasions left her husband, but she ended up in his arms again.
She approached the courts for a protection order against her husband Garcia Masasi whom she accused of consulting traditional healers to lure her back after she would have run away from the abusive marriage.
Mubare told the court that her first attempt to leave him was in December 2014.
"He did not follow me or send anyone after me, Your Worship, but all I know is that I ended up in his bedroom once again, with him boasting that I would never leave him," she said.
She alleged that Masasi had shown her some of her undergarments which he had taken to a sangoma and used them to lure her back.
"My panties were slightly cut and he boasted that I will always be his slave and can never run away from his snares. He does not want to pay my bride price, but he claims to love me. He should not bother me with his charms for I do not want him no more," she said.
She begged the court to put an order to stop him from using his charms on her since she claimed she had found a new man in her life.
Masasi, however, told the court that he loved Mubare but could not marry her before he had disposed of his late wife's belongings.
He said Mubare had lied to the court about traditional healers, but put the blame on her for cheating on him with friends.
"When we stayed together, I always found small stones under my pillow and that was spooky. She is the one who keeps coming back to my house after she would have run away. I do not want her no more, but want my property that she has."
The peace order was granted.
