People in Matabeleland South attending the international day of cooperatives (national commemorations) being hosted by Gwanda at Phelandaba stadium today, felt insulted after the Harare delegation printed a programme with national anthem both in Shona and Ndebele, but Ndebele version full of mistakes.
The participants at the event said sentences in the Ndebele national anthem just don't make any sense.
"This is an insult to us as the Ndebele speaking people and we feel its an insult to us and that our language is being undermined" said one participant.
"We want the ministry responsible to issue a statement of apology for this carelessness that has resulted in the undermining of our language."
Apostle Levy Moyo of Able Minister claimed this is a 'language genocide'
