Zimbabwe soldiers leave for South Africa

The Zimbabwe National Army contingent for the AU standby force has left for South Africa.

The soldiers were seen off from 5:3 Infantry Brigade on Tuesday morning by ZNA Commander Lieutenant General Philip Valerio Sibanda.

The Zimbabwean contingent of soldiers for the AU standby force has left the country for the Amani 2 Training Exercise in South Africa.

Lieutenant General Sibanda urged them to maintain discipline at all times and to be honest, professional and sincere so as to earn a good name for the country.

More than 5 000 troops drawn from regional standby forces, including SADC as the main force with ECOWAS, East African standby force and the Economic Community of Central African States contributing troops as well.

ZNA's Major General Trust Mugoba who is already in Pretoria, South Africa is in charge of the African Union combat training exercise that is set to start on the 19th of this month ending on the 7th of November.
