SA rejected over 25 ZSP applications for serious crimes

South African authorities are reported to have rejected 25 Zimbabweans applications for special permits on the grounds that the applicants were associated with criminal activities in that country.
Migrant Workers Union of South Africa representative Ngqabutho Mabhena said in 2010, 242 000 DZP permits were issued to Zimbabwe nationals resident in South Africa.
"In 2014; 208 967 Zimbabweans applied for Zimbabwe Special Permits (ZSP ), 207 998 booked an appointment with vfs, 197 955 submitted their applications through vfs, only 224 applications are awaiting a decision by Home Affairs," he said.
"Initially, over 12 000 ZSP applications were rejected but after the review, only 25 applications have been rejected for serious crime like rape, murder and armed robbery and only 27 applications are still awaiting review."
