The Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development Michael Madanha was today roasted by legislators in the National Assembly over the depreciating state of the recently constructed Plumtree-Mutare highway.
Madanha was also subjected to a barrage of questions by legislators who demanded an explanation surrounding the sacking of former National Railways of Zimbabwe Managing Director, Engineer Alvord Mabhena.
It was Mutasa South legislator Irene Zindi who set the ball rolling by quizzing the Deputy Minister on government's position regarding a fast depreciating Mutare road.
The Deputy Minister dabbled between blaming the ministry on what he cited as lack of supervision and solely placing the blame on the road constructor.
Other issues that came under the spotlight in parliament was the payment of arrears to farmers and the failure by Ministers to attend parliament.
Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa, Dr Joseph Made, Minister Chiratidzo Mabuwa, Dr Godfrey Gandawa were some of the ministers commended for religiously attending parliament.
Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko, Dr David Parirenyatwa and Dr Ignatius Chombo were also cited as always snubbing parliament.
