The Zimbabwe School of Infantry has a responsibility to nurture and cultivate discipline among army officers as wayward behaviour will not be tolerated within the Zimbabwe National Army.
This was the word from the ZNA Chief of Staff General Staff Major General Trust Mugoba at the military school's combined graduation parade in Mbalabala.
Of the 411 students who enrolled at the Zimbabwe School of Infantry in August this year, 19 fell by the way side due to various reasons among them indiscipline.
Major General Mugoba says knowledge alone without discipline is not enough to ensure a successful force, hence its commitment to cultivating these attributes among its officers.
"It is through these attributes that the ZNA has succeeded in peace keeping operations, low intensity and conventional warfare operations including resisting asymetic warfare being waged against us by our adversaries," said Major General Mugoba.
Turning to the graduands, Major General Mugoba expressed optimism the soldiers will implement the knowledge and training gained for the good of the force.
Those who excelled in their courses received certificates and shields.
Among these were Staff Sergeant Tshikongo Wilhelina from Namibia's defence forces who became the best student in the senior non-commissioned officers management course.
Private Partson Mhembere was the best student in the battalion support weapons uses course and was promoted to lance corporal.
