A Mutare based musician Hosiah Chipanga has said Zimbabwe must honour the founding member of Zanu Ndabaningi Sithole, Zimbabwe's first President Canaan Banana and James Chikerema as heroes since they were known pioneers of the liberation struggle , history which no one can erase.
"The truth that hurts. We are all here and in whatever situation because of Zanu PF. If by its failure or success it has made you think of forming another party, is not that thankful enough?" he said.
"Would you have needed an army to command you to form a party? Once one forgets the origin and the motivation source of his or her inspiration into politics , then is lost forever."
Chipanga said Zanu PF made such type of an error.
"We were supposed to maintain our respect to all our elders who started the war path for us regardless of whatever evil they may have done. The likes of Ndabaningi Sithole, James Chikerema, Cannan Banana and many others who we now don't regard as our heros, They need an everlasting respect from all Zimbabwean generations," he said.
"Come what may ,they are the pioneers of our liberation. Such a history can not be altered or tempered with. Whichever party that comes after Zanu PF, if it doesn't respect and regard Zanu PF as its Father, it would also have made the same mistake that Zanu PF made."
