TSHOLOTSHO Senator Believe Gaule stunned a parked August House when he falsely reported that all was rosy at Copac.

According to Volume 21, Number 3 of the Hansard Senator Gaule informed Parliament that Copac was doing a great job and that there were no problems disturbing it.

Copac is the Parliamentary Select Committee created as one of the deliverables of the Global Political Agreement (GPA) and charged with a duty of writing the country new constitution.

Gaule, a former right hand man of Tsholotsho legislator said in questionable English Language:

"The President also highlighted on the issues that are important that have been in the nation and highlighted that the concept of the Constitution making is a very important issues.

"He also highlighted on the status that we are now at as a nation. I therefore, as a member of the Select Committee want to highlight to you that the job is being done properly.

"We, therefore need to work together as a nation and follow on the stages that we are actually using at the moment," he said.

Un-shy, Gaule added:
"….I would like to inform everyone that the work is being processed properly now and we have managed to get the finances," he said.

Copac has been troubled from day one. The outreach process was chaotic and violent. The data capturing was worse as there was a systems failure, the sitting of thematic committee teams was worse as political parties debated and fought on which method to use – between the qualitative and quantities reports.

The recently finished writing of narrative district and provincial reports has been chaotic and rapportuers are still owed their money for the outreach. No-one knows when the national report will be done and when drafting will start. Evidently, the three co-chairs have been issuing contradictory statements about goings on at Copac.
