Fisherman dies after crocodile attack in Binga

A fisherman has died following a crocodile attack during a fishing expedition at the Saba Ward 13 Mlibizi fishing area in Binga, Matabeleland North Province.
The tragic incident was revealed in a Civil Protection Unit (CPU) report issued on 2 April 2026.
“One casualty of a young male fisherman has been recorded. He died after admission at Binga Hospital,” the CPU said.
The report further noted that failure to observe safe fishing practices contributed to the fatal attack.
