Manhunt for armed robbers

POLICE have intensified a manhunt for armed robbers who shot and killed a man in a carjacking incident in Chivhu.
National police spokesperson Chief Superintendent Paul Nyathi said the suspects in the killing which occurred on December 14 last year are armed and dangerous.
"The now deceased was hired to Masvaure Village, Chief Neshangwe, Sadza where he proceeded driving a white Toyota Ipsum registration number ADT 9556, engine number 3S2798383 and chasis number SMX10-7154033.
"Along Sadza-Mupatsi road, a passerby heard a crying voice in a bushy area and went to investigate. When he got near, one of the accused fired a shot towards him and he rushed to ZRP Sadza where he reported the case," he said.
Chief Supt Nyathi said police attended the scene and took the now deceased to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
He had been shot, the police spokesperson said.
Police are appealing for information that may lead to the arrest of the suspects and recovery of the motor vehicle.
"We urge members of the public to be on the lookout as the suspects are armed and dangerous," Chief Supt Nyathi said.
