A nine-month-old girl Manqoba Mabhena is urgently seeking $43 000 to undergo a life-saving operation on a rare condition known as biliary atresia.

She was diagnosed after five months and she needs to undergo a liver transplant in India.

According to her mother, Shamiso Yikoniko, her daughter's liver "can fail to function any time from now."

"The doctors explained to me that biliary atresia is life-threatening if uncorrected. And performing corrective surgery after 120 days of life makes it unhelpful," Yikoniko said.

The operation costs $43 000.

"I, therefore, appeal to individuals, corporates, charity organisations, churches to assist Manqoba to get a new lease of life," appealed Yikoniko.

Yikoniko is reachable on 0772935224.
