MDC Mat South Youth treasurer defects to MDC-T

The MDC Matebeleland South Youth Treasurer Wellington Nare has defected to the MDC-T citing an ideological problem by the Welshman Ncube led party.
In an statement Nare accused the MDC of supporting Zanu-PF's cause and failing to practise what they preach. He claims the party failed to promote its devolution of power principle by imposing the Harare based party's Secretary General Priscilla Misihirambwi-Mushonga as Matebeleland South women's quota legislator.
"Today I want to announce the real reason why I joined the MDC-T from the Welshman Ncube led party where I held the position of provincial youth treasurer. I joined MDC-T after realising that MDC-N
had an ideological and organisational problem and defended the ZANU PF, also the issue of Priscila Mushonga," said Nare in a statement.
Nare further indicated that he was not happy with the party's Gwanda District's selective consideration of members. He claims the party appears to have some members that are favours over others.
"When some members are bereaved or in need of assistance the party jumps around and sends high powered District or Provincial executives to assist while no one from the party paid attention to me when my grandmother who brought me up passed on recently," said Nare.
He further says that his move was necessitated by an insult he got from the party's Treasurer General who told him and another party youth colleague that he hates them individually and the entire Mat South Youth Assemble for disrespecting the party's president. This according to Nare, was as a result of a challenge the Matebeleland South Youth Assembly made to the party leadership on the suspension of the party's provincial chairman early this year.
Nare was elected unopposed to be the Youth Provincial Treasurer for Matebeleland South at a Provincial Assemble in Gwanda in 2011 after joining the party in 2004 while still a high school student.
Some members of the Mat South Youth Assemble however claim that Nare was not elected but imposed by the National Youth Secretary General Descent Bajila who is a close associate to him and has never been favourable amongst the youth of the province.
MDC's problems in Matebeleland South seem to be escalating everyday as some senior members of the Province are against the imposing of Misihairambwi-Mushonga as the province's representative in parliament.
