The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) has ordered the immediate closure of two Gwanda hotels, Tusanang Geust House and the Phumulani Hotel following complaints by the residents that the two facilities were havens for prostitutes which have destroyed many families while the places were unhealthy as they have no running water and rubbish in strewn all over in the premises.
Gwanda residents recently complained over sprouting prostitution at the hotels which they blamed for the destruction of marriages as they indicated that some men were no longer going home after work but go to the said hotels to have nice time with the prostitutes.
They called for the authority to shut down the facilities.
Revelations were that the facilities were dirty and needed to be spruced up and rehabilitated before they can be re-opened.
"These hotels are dirty and prostitutes are causing a lot of problems for the married people," said a resident.
