Mugabe's rot continues
05 Oct 2016 at 16:06hrs | Views
Mugabe's penchant for nepotism has just revealed itself by the appointment of his son in law to serve on the most powerful position at Air Zimbabwe yesterday.
Air Zimbabwe is amongst the largest white elephants among the country's parastatals, which only serves to transport Mugabe on his numerous trips abroad. It has not shown profit for decades besieged by scandals and corruption, with the latest one being the insurance scandal within the last two years.
The only reason Air Zimbabwe has not been sold off is to transport Robert Mugabe and to provide jobs to his greedy blue eyed boys, like he did with his son in law yesterday. We wonder what benefits Chikore will bring to Air Zimbabwe given that his qualifications are dubious and his experience and employment record untraceable.
We also wonder why a pilot of dubious qualifications and son in law to the country's president would agree to jump on a crashing airliner. It only confirms the rumors that he is an opportunist using his relationship with the first family to feed on the gravy train.
ZAPU wonders what kind of a manager a man who dresses like musician Kofi Olomide will make especially considering he has been awarded a very senior position at one of the biggest parastatals in the country.
The development only serves to expose Mugabe as a man who has privatized the state and is using his influence to loot the country dry. He has thrived on nepotism ever since he grabbed power in ZANU during the liberation struggle. He is showing no signs of reforming and the rot goes on unabated.
The Minister of Transport Joram Gumbo has taken Mugabe bootlicking a level up by agreeing to rubberstamp the appointment of Chikore, also confirming ZAPU's long held observation that Mugabe's cabinet is appointed solely on loyalty than merit and capability.
This is clear testimony that Mugabe, his family and ZANU PF are not here to serve Zimbabwe's interests but are amassing power for personal aggrandizement. ZAPU calls on the people of this nation to refuse these nepotism thriving looters hold of the country any longer. Mayibuyele ebantwini iZimbabwe. Ngaidzokere kuvanhu Zimbabwe. ZAPU urges Zimbabweans to reclaim their country from these looting pretenders in ZANU PF.
