THE King of Sungura, Alick Macheso, will on Friday night be at Jabula Inn in Esgodini where fans are expected to sample a number of his new songs.
He will be backed by Progress Chipfumo and his band, Sounds of the Mother Land.
In an interview, the show organiser and proprietor of Jabula Inn, Jorum Moyo said the show was the opening act for his joint's summer season entertainment programme.
"We have a number of gigs lined up for this summer," he said.
Moyo said Macheso had a lot up his sleeve and urged people to come in their numbers to enjoy themselves.
"People associate this joint with top-notch gigs and we want to keep it that way," Moyo said.
Macheso's manager, William Tsandukwa said Extra Basso will also perform in Masvingo tomorrow before travelling to Esigodini.
He said they were also booked for a gig in Victoria Falls as part of the UNWTO General Assembly entertainment on Saturday.
Tsandukwa said at all the shows, fans will sample some of Macheso's new songs he was working on.
After the star's ninth offering Kwatakabva Mitunhu (Kure Kwekure) failed to live up to expectations, Baba Sharo was forced to immediately go back into the studio.
Meanwhile, if Macheso's last show in the region is anything to go by, fans at Jabula Inn are in for a treat as the sungura virtuoso is said to have gelled well with his new recruits.
The new members are bassist Lovemore Chekumanyara and chanter, Zhli Mulapi Mumba.
Moyo said Macheso was expected to play songs from crowd favourites albums such as Tafadzwa, Zvirimo, Mundikumbuke, Charakupa Shediah and Madhawu.
