Tempers and personalities are causing a split in legendary music group Bongo Maffin. According to reports, the band members are considering kicking Thandiswa "Reds" Mazwai out of the group.

The three male members -Jah Seed, Speedy and Stoan -have decided to kick their female vocalist Thandiswa out.

Thandiswa and her sister Ntsiki Mazwai have been tweeting hints that the singer is being replaced by Zanele.

Ntsiki's tweeted that the "Zabalalaza" singer is "being pushed out of Bongo Maffin".

Thandiswa also added to the fracas apparently when she tweeted that the group better find a better replacement.

She also tweeted an old Ymag cover with her, Stoan and Jah Sedd and she captioned it: "The old Bongo".

However, according to MOVE magazine the other members of the band are denying the split.

"Thandiswa is going nowhere and there is no one replacing her. In fact, we are planning on releasing an album by March next year," Speedy told the magazine.

And Stoan added: "We have all had moments where one member wasn't available and we had to find back-up. As for replacing Thandiswa with Zanele, that is not true?"

The members don't seem to be singing the same tune.

The infighting started after an explosive altercation erupted between Jah Seed and Mazwai earlier in the year.
