Preparations for the Grand Finale race to select a young Zimbabwean lady in Britain to step and be crowned a highly coveted honor of being Miss Zimbabwe UK 2013 is underway and taken a full throttle speed. Young Zimbabwean ladies aged between 17 and 24 from across the United Kingdom have been shortlisted to compete for the crown.
Under the theme "Celebrating Beautiful Zimbabwe", this year's event will be held on Saturday 7th September 2013 at Quality Skyline Hotel, 246 Dunstable Road, Luton LU4 8JL from 6pm to midnight. Running into the preparatory stages, some of the girls took advantage of the Pageant booked studio photo and video shoots in Birmingham and London respective at the courtesy of sponsors, partners and designers alike who pulled every stop to ensure every exposure and camera click was worth far more than its moment.
Cindy couture, Sety Designs & Divine Creations have all jumped aboard to exhibit their creative apparrell designs that showcased on the photoshoots as well to showcase on the night of glamour. In view of such elegance, the organisers plan to indulge to a red carpet affair for post production television exposure.
Great care has been taken on drawing up the judges panel, so to ensure the judgement will have a wholesome detail of the Zimbabwean edge in the judgement. The panel is made up with Zimbabwe's UK based community elites from entertainment, radio, author & health.
"It was of immense importance we have a deep reflection of our grassroots in ensuring the girl who will win is measured holistically across the Zimbabwean lifestyle basis. We have Demitriah Karongah who is an award winner Zimbabwean actor, Agrena Mushonga teacher by profession and also an education series author, Patience Zingwe a well regarded radio personality, Marshal Gore an academia with deep influence to our community and lastly Fahraan Khan popularly known as Kazz who through his career has connected so well with the budding community in UK", explained Amanda Kuwana, Event Coordinating Executive.
To top that up, further to the entertainment line-up, Kamikaze Test Pilots who set the roof on fire at the Zim Music & Arts Awards late last year with their rendition of Pidigori Waenda among many other masterpieces. UK based Zimbabwean top disc jockeys will be led by King Alfred for the night's entertainment which will be followed by an after-party at DeJaVu Night spot, only a stonethrow away from the venue.
