A Selebi-Phikwe man has been arrested by the police after storming the magistrates court armed with a baton, Okapi knife and hand-cuffs demanding to see Magistrate Ditebogo Ntuli.
The Voice reported that Superintendent Victor Nlebesi of Selebi-Phikwe police confirmed the incident but said investigations were still underway to determine the man's sanity.
"The suspect is in police custody and he faces a charge of common nuisance for his actions. We however are yet to take him for psychiatric examination to determine his mental status because we do not know what influenced him to act in such a manner," he said.
The suspect, Mothusi Monei, 30, is said to have banged the office caravan upon entering the court premises before he entered the courtroom where he started harassing court officials asking for the magistrate's whereabouts.
He then, allegedly confronted a police officer demanding directions to the magistrate's office.
With the help of another police officer, the man was arrested before he could get to the magistrate's office and he was detained at the police station.
