5 Zimbabweans have been awarded Chevening scholarships

The British scholarships valued at 80 thousand pounds were awarded to outstanding scholars.
The recipients are Dr Nonhlanhla Awangobani, (public health), Thulani Muswelanto (international relations), Michael Gwama (Masters in development finance), Dirk Holshausen (Masters in business administration) and Edmond Sibanda (Masters in science in international development).
The five will all study at higher education institutions across the United Kingdom to develop themselves professionally and academically.
Speaking at the awards reception, British Embassy Charge d'Affairs Chris Brown said the Chevening Scholarship Programme in Zimbabwe demonstrates the United Kingdom's commitment to the prosperity of Zimbabwe through investing in its human resource.
The British and Foreign Commonwealth in Zimbabwe has been running the Chevening Scholarship Programme since 1984 and to date over 150 Zimbabweans have benefitted from it.
The scholarships target talented scholars identified as potential future leaders across a wide range of fields including business, the media, civil society, politics, religion and academia.
They provide the best education the United Kingdom can offer and an opportunity to network with other talented individuals from across the world.
