A total of 320 graduands from the Harare Institute of Technology (HIT) have been conferred with bachelor of technology degrees by President Robert Mugabe who is the Chancellor of the institution.
This year's graduation is coinciding with the institute's 10th anniversary celebrations.
HIT Vice Chancellor Engineer Quinton Kanhukamwe hailed the government's 10-point plan for economic growth as it resonates with the institution's thrust.
Engineer Kanhukamwe said the university is committed to contributing to the rapid technological industrialisation of the country and to that end the institution has managed to register four patents, one utility model and 15 copyrights.
He appealed to government to consider a ZIMDEF dedicated budget line for the institution to support various projects being conducted which require substantial funding.
The graduation ceremony was also attended by the Acting Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Dr Ignatius Chombo.
