Zanu-PF will easily cruise to victory in the weekend Bikita West by-election this Saturday as opposition parties are weak, Norton independent legislator Temba Mliswa has said.
According to Mliswa, Zanu PF is not rigging the by-election.
He said ballot stuffing is impossible.
"You cannot win an election without a component of Zanu-PF.
"Zanu PF is the ruling party and for the coalition to think, even if they gather, no matter how big it might be, their numbers are not big enough to beat Zanu-PF and that is the truth of the matter" he told reporters on Tuesday.
He added "MDC has lost before and people should not put pressure on Zanu-PF since this was an independent seat and it is up to the MDC to reclaim it".
Bikita West fell vacant following the 10-year imprisonment of former legislator, Munyaradzi Kereke (Zanu PF) for raping a minor at gunpoint.
Zanu-PF's Beauty Chabaya will fight it out with Zimbabwe People First's Kudakwashe Gopo, National Constitutional Assembly spokesperson Madock Chivasa, Terence Makumbo of Progressive Democrats of Zimbabwe (PDZ), independent candidate Innocent Muzvimbiri and former Bikita West legislator Heya Shoko.
