A Bulawayo Man is in trouble for stealing money from a vehicle importer after he offered to help him register his vehicle with the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority.

Thomas Moyana was denying the charge of fraud when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Sithembiso Ncube.

The magistrate remanded him to August 18 for continuation of trial.

The court was told that the complainant in the matter is William Ndlovu of Njube in Bulawayo and works in Botswana.

On July 21 2011 this year Ndlovu was introduced to Moyana by a Mr Ncube when they met in town, whom he said works at Zimra.

Moyana was given $1500 by Ndlovu to change the ownership of the vehicle he had brought from Botswana after he promised to offer assistance since he was said to be working at Zimra.

He also allegedly gave him another 5000Pula to register the vehicle.

Moyana later met Ndlovu after few days when he gave Ndlovu a fraudulent registration book and vehicle number plates. Ndlovu went to CID where he was told that the book and number plates were fake.

Efforts to contact Moyana were fruitless and a report was made to the police leading to his arrest.
