LUCKY ran out of two drug dealers in Bulawayo on Wednesday when police pounced on them following a tip and found them in possession of illegal drugs with a street value of $4,240.
Miseli Ndlovu, 36, and Nkululeko Ncube, 39, were hauled separately before a Bulawayo court facing charges of unlawful possession of dangerous drugs.
The court heard that on Wednesday around 4PM, detectives from CID drugs section who were on surveillance along Josiah Tongogara and acting on a tip off, noticed Ndlovu coming out of his workplace carrying five sachets of cocaine weighing 28 grammes.
However, in defence Ndlovu told the court that he had sent by a Zimbabwean based in South African to hand over the dangerous drugs to Owen Munodeyi who resides in Bulawayo's Sauerstown suburb.
"Detectives intercepted a message which Ndlovu had sent to one of his workmates Mlisa Nyathi instructing him to hide Owen's parcel. A subsequent search led to the discovery of another satchet of white powder which tested positive for cocaine and weighed 6,5 grammes and 12 white capsules which tested positive for heroine," a daily paper reported today.
The drugs recovered had a street value of $2,880. Ndlovu was granted $300 bail before plea and will be back in court on October 17. He was represented by Bulawayo lawyer Kucaca Phulu.
In another matter, Ncube of Parklands who is self employed, was also arrested on the same day at 10PM when detectives received information that he was in possession of cocaine.
"Detectives proceeded to his house where a thorough search was conducted. Ncube led detectives to three sachets containing cocaine which were in the study room on top of a pelmet," the Chronicle reported.
The drugs recovered weighed 17 grammes with a street value of $1,360.
Ncube was remanded in custody to Monday for a bail ruling after the state opposed his bail application indicating that he was a flight risk.
